3Dconnexion Unveils SpaceNavigator for Notebooks
3Dconnexion, a subsidiary of Logitech, has announced an addition to its 3D mouse line. The SpaceNavigator for Notebooks is a more compact version of the existing SpaceNavigator. Both smaller and half the weight of the SpaceNavigator, the new model offers the same functionality for navigating, zooming, and rotating 3D images in Photoshop CS3 Extended, Google Earth, and other applications by using subtle push, pull, and twist motions. Pressure on the cap accelerates motion, and pulling back slows it down. The SpaceNavigator for Notebooks also provides enhanced control and efficiency for working with 2D images in Photoshop CS2 and CS3 by letting you pan, zoom, and adjust brush sizes by manipulating the cap. The cap design of this model has been altered slightly to provide a more comfortable grip, and also has a triangle motif to indicate the orientation of the mouse.
The 3D SpaceNavigator for Notebooks comes with a travel case and is available now for $129. For more information and a complete list of compatible 3D applications, go to 3Dconnexion’s Web site
